2011 Bentley Continental GT – First Test

The 2011 Bentley Continental GT has offers a variety of modish features for the exterior, including a unique front bumper splitter, strakes integrated into the front intake grilles, side extension blades each extension blade features a discreet ‘Winged B’ motif and a rear diffuser, all made from high-gloss, black carbon-fiber, plus a range of individual design options, comprising black, carbon-fiber rear spoiler and door mirror cowls as well as distinctive, black-painted 21-inch ‘Elegant’ alloy wheels and dark mesh front wing vents with black carbon-fiber bezels. All the parts are also rigorously tested for best quality and optimum performance. The new optional design features can be ordered from authorized Bentley dealers from autumn 2011. Power lines streak from front to back, accentuating the body like a finely pressed suit. The traditional four-lamp headlights now feature LED daytime lighting and jewel-like detailing. At its core, Bentley has designed a sports coupe of the highest magnitude. Other than what separates the new Continental GT from the others on this most wanted list is that it never sacrifices ride quality, back seat passenger room or useable storage space. This is a premium sports coupe comfortable with driving back and forth to work, or challenging the tightest two-lane turns as you take the long way home.  Power stems from a 6.0-liter twin-turbocharged W12 engine. Presentation numbers are staggering: 567 horsepower at 6000 rpm and 516 ft-lbs of torque at 1700 rpm. Extra performance figures indicate passing times of 1.7 seconds from 30-50 mph and 2.9 seconds from 50-75 mph.
